He added that over the period 2012 to 2014 all awardees did not opt to take advantage of the offer. At CAPE the top performers in 2012 were: Jonelle James and Christopher Chinnatambi both of Queen’s College.In 2013 three of the top performers took advantage of the scholarships, according to Harmon, who also revealed that the fourth top performing student is currently requesting of the Ministry of Education access to the scholarship.The top CSEC performers in 2013 were Zimeena Rasheed who secured 20 CSEC passes, 18 grade ones and two grade twos, and Yogeeta Persaud who gained 18 grade one passes,Wade Boggs Red Sox Jersey, both of the Anna Regina Multilateral School.CAPE top performers in that year were Shalita Appadu of President’s College and Melodie Lowe of QC.However, Harmon yesterday disclosed that an admitted move by the former administration to narrow the scholarship offering resulted in none of the top performers taking advantage of the Government offer last year.According to Harmon, scholarships last year were limited to the University of Guyana, China and Cuba. These were not accepted by the parents of the top performers, Harmon disclosed, as he revealed that at least one top performer had sought the Education Minister’s intervention on this matter.Elisa Hamilton with 19 grade one passes and one grade two was named the top CSEC performer in 2014. The Queen’s College student had taken to Facebook to highlight her displeasure about the government’s decision to restrict its scholarship awards.
